How it plays

Every face is a chessboard.

  1. Turn the cube

    Rotate any layer to carry pieces from one face to another. Every twist changes the board.

  2. Read the faces

    Pieces are fixed on their cubies, so the twist that fixes one face can break another.

  3. Hit the objective

    Each puzzle sets its own goal, from Checkmate Everywhere to Equal Position Everywhere. A move counter and undo keep you honest.

Description

CubeMate is a chess puzzle game played on a 3D Rubik’s Cube. Every face carries a chess position, so one twist changes six boards at once. The goal is to rotate the cube until every face satisfies the challenge: check, checkmate, material advantage, equality or a classic solve. It has a 34-level campaign from 2×2 to 7×7, Free Play, a Daily puzzle and shareable seeds. Built by one developer in Godot 4.
